Power Point Project

Dear Parents,

Thank you for your interest and cooperation in assisting your fourth grader in his/her assignments. Our next major class project is an especially important one since several disciplines are involved: reading, writing, speaking, visual arts, presentation, and research using various resources.

By now, your child has been introduced to the software Power Point, and next week willbe diligently working on a long term Power Point assignment. Each child will conduct a research on a country of his or her choice. Their final report should entail the following: location, population, flag, religion, government, customs, food, major holidays, currency value compared to the $1 (US), and any other information that is significant to the country.

In conjunction with Mrs. Hall, our school librarian, and the computer staff, your child will be guided and provided with all the necessary tools needed to complete this assignment successfully. However, your child may opt to work simultaneously at home. If so, he/she must save the work on a CD so that I may monitor his/her progress, offer suggestions, and avoid repetition of work done at school.

I cannot stress how important it is for your child to work independently for he/she will do the presentation alone before parents, staff, and peers at Union School.

Union School is subscribed to " Britannica", the noted encyclopedia company. You may want to use it at your convenience. www.search.eb.com     User Name: Union     Password: Panthers

A Power Point presentation for grade four including a brunch is scheduled for mid-November. Students, staff, and of course the fourth grade parents will be invited to share this exciting experience. As soon as the exact date has been decided, you will receive a formal invitation.

Thank you for your support and cooperation.
